Fabian von Poser was born in Hamburg. After having studied history and Spanish at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, he finished with a Master’s degree in 1997. Between 1995 and 1997 he worked as a freelancer for Süddeutsche Zeitung, one of the most renowned german newspapers, and has been a freelance journalist, photographer and author of books since 1997.
For more than two decades Fabian has been travelling around the world for his articles. His travels have taken him to Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Syria, Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, orgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, India and Papua New Guinea.
Fabian has visited the African continent more than 50 times. The countries he has visited to date include Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya, Sudan, Ethiopia, Ruanda, Kenia, Tanzania, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Conakry, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola, Botswana, South Africa and, frequently, Namibia. Besides African and Arabian countries, he focuses on Argentina and southern Spain.
